Secondary 6-12 High school students must earn 28 credits in order to graduate from Good Shepherd Christian Academy. Four years each of English, science (Physical Science, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology or Chemistry, Environmental Science or Physics), math (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II or Consumer Math, Advanced Math, Calculus or Accounting), Bible and social studies (World History, Government & Economics, U.S. History, World Geography) are required for graduation. In addition to these core subjects – Health, Family Living, Speech and yearly Physical Education classes are required. Electives such as German, Home Economics, Art, Choir, Band and Drama round out the remaining credits required for graduation. Standardized tests are given yearly to help in measuring progress, strengths and weaknesses. GSCA students, on the average, consistently achieve one to three grade levels above the national average. |
